Major €3m investment into Quinn Packaging operations - plastic film packaging
Quinn Packaging is investing more than 3 euros in Ballyconnell of Cavan.
The company, previously part of the Quinn Group, was acquired in December 2014 by Quinn Industrial Holdings Limited (QIHL.
QIHL acquired the supply business in Quinn's packaging and construction industry.
Mark McKenna, general manager of Quinn packaging, said the investment would further allow the company to develop its business in the field of rigid food packaging.
The company will invest the money in new equipment, which the company says will provide additional capabilities to further develop its meattray business.
The company has 000 m² factories in Ballyconnell, with more than 140 employees, producing various plastic packaging products.
These products include rigid packaging for the food industry and flexible packaging for industrial and agricultural applications.
The machine will be supplied by the Austrian company SML, which specializes in the production of high-performance extrusion equipment.
Karl Stoeger, general manager of Karl, said he is looking forward to providing a new state for Quinn Packagingof-the-art sheet line.
QIHL said that since its inception in December 2014, it has created 74 new jobs and has recently delivered the first phase of a major capital investment project to supplement 140 jobs

According to the accounts submitted to the company's office at the end of last year, QIHL lost 4 million euros in the first six weeks of operation.
