where wall meets carpet, dirt reigns - clear plastic sheets
A few years ago, I installed a light beige carpet in my home.
On the edge of the wall, the carpet becomes very dark.
I have cleaned it and I was told that the dirt in that area was trapped and could not be removed. Is that true? C. J.
Mark Silverberg of The New York carpet company in Anaheim said that this common problem that most families in Santa Ana * appeared was related to its construction.
When the wall meets the floor, there is usually a slight gap that expands or closes as the house collapses.
From that gap, the air can pass through.
When you attach the carpet to the model, the carpet is like an air filter, collecting dust and dirt from the air.
It became very obvious on the light colored carpet.
You can find a manufacturer.
Approved on-site cleaner for your carpet, then handle Wall dyeing by hand.
You may want to pull the carpet up along the wall and apply a caulking agent along the edge to help seal these air gaps.
It is also a good idea to vacuum regularly along the walls.
* Q we added a solarium at home to protect our spa from outside weather and to provide us with a good room to sit in.
However, the room is facing south and is very hot most of the year.
Even opening all the windows did not help.
Any suggestions? R. G.
Mission Viejo * check with the glass shop in your area to see if they have Electronics
Rodney Wilson, the contractor for Santa Ana, said the glass film.
E glass is the only glass used to seal heat
Create sunshine while allowing light to come in.
They may have a movie you can use to cover the window.
You can also stream some powerful fans.
If none of this works, you may need to see if Wall air conditioning can be installed to keep the room livable.
* Q I will decorate a children's room soon and I am interested in the appearance of paint everywhere on the walls.
Can this be done safely without damaging the carpet? L. V.
Dave Willis, A painter at Anaheim, says Fullerton * A is carefully prepared and covered and you can protect your carpet.
Get the thickest and toughest plastic waterproof cloth you can find and paste it into the mold.
Paint the room with latex coating (
Light color is usually used).
After drying, choose your bright splash color, at least three, each with a nice hard brush.
Randomly splash paint from there.
* Q since we started using the stove, we noticed that our windows were dripping with fog inside.
Is there an easy way to prevent this from happening? R. T.
Katie Jackson from Anaheim suggested that La Palma * try to install the glascene panel.
These are heavy and transparent plastic sheets that can be cut to fit your window glass.
They are not a permanent fixture and they will eventually dry and break, but they will prevent condensate from forming inside the window and they will prevent your stove from losing some heat.
* Q the kitchen sink in my apartment is too shallow and too small.
How hard is it to stick a bigger one inside? B. B.
Ted Mobley, A plumber at Anaheim, said there could be A lot of labor in St. Clement *.
Once the old sink comes out, the counter has to be cut off in order for the new sink to come in.
Fittings under disposal, drainage and water pipes may also need to be modified.
It's not an unusual job, but give yourself a lot of time if you do it yourself.
